Respectful and Safe Educational Environment at MSAD

Welcome back to school. We are excited to have you back and look forward to the activities in and out of the classroom that we have planned for the 2017-2018 school year.

As a part of planning for the future, we must also reflect on the past. Due to recent events in the news, we wanted to re-emphasize our commitment to supporting all students, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds and maintaining a respectful and safe educational environment at MSAB/MSAD. In our school policies, it is clearly stated that we do not discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender identity, marital status, parental status, status with regard to public assistance, disability, sexual orientation, or age. We do not tolerate any hate speech or hate crimes on our campus and will take appropriate steps to address any incidents that are reported to us promptly. Our directors will also establish instructional/experiential activities to help foster awareness, respect, and support of diversity among our students and staff. We will also be revisiting some of our policies and procedures to ensure that we are continually re-examining ourselves, our biases, and our daily activities to promote equity and full inclusion of diversity within our daily practices and our curriculum.

If you have a specific concern that you feel needs to be addressed, please contact one of the Directors or the Superintendent’s office so we can begin to address your concerns into our policies, classroom activities, or training sessions.

Thank you.

Terry Wilding, Superintendent
John Davis, MSAB Director
Anne Grace Donatucci, MSAD Director
