Grade 6: Minnesota History: This curriculum and supplementary materials give students an overview of life, past and present, in the geographic area known as Minnesota.

This course provides a survey of Minnesota history with emphasis on interpreting the state's experience within a larger context.

Grade 7: World Geography - Exploring Our World is a middle school program co-authored by National Geographic. This program introduces students to an enriched view of the interrelationships of geography, history, economics, government, citizenship, and current events—in one compelling package. A strong geographic thread is interwoven with history, government, and current events to analyze different regions of the world and the issues they face.

In this course, students study different concepts of World Geography.

  • An analysis of the existing and emerging geographic patterns in the world and of the processes and trends producing such patterns.
  • An examination of the global scale of human activities and interaction with the environment and the linkages tying the various regions of the world into a single, global system.
Grade 8: American History - Holt's middle grades United States History program provides you with the tools to create an understanding of America's past and its impact today. History Close-ups and History and Geography features connect high-interest visuals to key content. Reading Like a Historian, Primary Source, and Literature features build critical-thinking skills and provide instruction for analyzing written and visual documents Experiencing American History resource promotes collaborative learning with hands-on projects.

This course provides a survey of American history from the pre-Columbian period to Reconstruction. The survey places an emphasis on a worldview of American history including, the contributions and effects of cultures, the founding fathers, slavery, and division as the American people held on to their goals and aspirations.
