Support Services

The Minnesota State Academies provide a variety of support and related services to ensure all of our students receive the best possible educational program. Our services include the related services mandated through IDEA, along with support services found in any public school.  All students have access to support services as needed.  Specific related services are determined through the IEP process.  As part of the IEP team, our related services staff complete assessments and prepare specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of our students.

The Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf provides the following support and related services:

  • American Sign Language Services
  • Audiological Services
  • Cochlear Implant Services
  • Counseling Services
  • Interpreter Services
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Outreach Evaluations
  • Physical Therapy
  • Psychological Services
  • School Social Work Services
  • Speech and Language Services
  • Transition Evaluations
  • Volunteers of America

To receive any of the services outlined on this web page, the student’s IEP manager should be contacted.  Parents may request a team meeting to discuss services for their child at any time during the school year. We are committed to ensuring that all our students receive a free and appropriate public education in their least restrictive environment.
